Chromebook 90-day trial Terms and Conditions

  1. Subject to Participants purchase of any Chromebook laptop in the Chromebook range (Qualifying Product) from Currys PC World (Participating Retailer) between 17 April 2019 (00:01 – GMT) and 17 October 2019 (23:59 – GMT) (Promotion Period), Participants may be eligible to return their Qualifying Product to Opia Limited (the “Administrator”) who are running this promotion on behalf of Google Commerce Limited (the “Promoter”) in exchange for a refund equal to 100% of their purchase price (Refund), subject to full compliance with these Terms and Conditions (Promotion Terms), (the “Promotion”).

  2. This Promotion is only open to individual residents of the United Kingdom or Republic of Ireland over the age of 18 (Participant). Businesses are not eligible to participate in this Promotion. Purchases of Qualifying Products on finance or credit from the Qualifying Retailer are not eligible for the Promotion.

  3. Employees of Google (the “Promoter”), Participating Retailers and anyone professionally connected with the Promotion or their immediate family members are not eligible to take part in the Promotion.

  4. Participants may only make one Registration and one Claim irrespective of the quantity of Qualifying Products purchased.

  5. This Promotion will run in conjunction with all other warranties or returns policies, whether in-box, statutory or otherwise, that are available to the Participant. The Participant is in no way obliged to return the device through this means set out in this Promotion.

Claiming a Refund

  1. To take part in the Promotion, Participants must first register their purchase within 14 days of the date of purchase at, providing the required information including proof of purchase from the Participating Retailer. To avoid confusion, the date of purchase shall be considered day 1 of the trial period for the purposes of the Promotion. Participants shall receive a username and password at Registration to allow for a later Claim.

  2. After Registration, Participants who wish to return their purchased Qualifying Product for a Refund must visit within 90 days of the date of purchase (date of purchase shall be considered day 1) and complete the presented claim form with the requested information (Claim).

    7.1. For the avoidance of doubt, the last day to submit a Claim is 15 January, 2020. (23:59 – GMT) for Qualifying Products purchased on 17 October 2019.

  3. Participants will be notified of approval or non-approval of their Claim within 2 working days. Participants whose Claims have been approved shall also receive instructions for the return of their Qualifying Product along with a prepaid return label.

  4. Participants who provide incomplete or incorrect information when submitting their Claim shall be notified within 2 working days and provided with an opportunity to provide the missing information within 14 days in order to approve their Claim. Failure to provide the required information within this timeframe will result in the Claim being rejected.

  5. Participants must dispatch their Qualifying Product using the return label mentioned in Condition 7 above within 14 days of the Claim being approved. Qualifying Products returned outside of this date shall be deemed ineligible for the Promotion.

  6. The Promoter and Administrator accept no responsibility for loss or damage to Qualifying Products occurring during transit. Proof of dispatch shall not be considered proof of receipt.

  7. Participants must return their original Qualifying Product purchased from the Participating Retailer and registered during the Claim process to the Administrator. The Qualifying Product must be returned in Good Working Condition as defined below at Condition 12.

  8. Good Working Condition is defined as:

    a. Complete with its original box and all accessories;

    b. Undamaged;

    c. Not be permanently marked; and

    d. Any passwords and personal data removed

  9. Where the Qualifying Product received by the Administrator is not considered to be in Good Working Condition, the Administrator, on behalf of the Promoter, reserves the right to make a deduction to the Refund amount. The Administrator shall notify the Participant of any deduction within 10 days of receipt of the Qualifying Product. The Participant shall have 14 days from this notification to accept the revised Refund amount or have their Qualifying Product returned (at Administrator’s cost). If no response is given within this time frame, the Qualifying Product shall be recycled and the revised Refund amount will be paid.

  10. Providing that the Participant has complied fully with the Promotion Terms, the Administrator shall pay the Participant the relevant Refund amount via bank transfer to their Participant’s bank as nominated during the Claim process within 30 days of validation of the Claim.

  11. Claims where the Qualifying Product has suffered a mechanical breakdown, catastrophic failure or other damage are not eligible to take part under this Promotion. In these instances, the Participant should seek to rely on the standard warranty process to obtain a Refund.

  12. Refunds are non-transferable, non-modifiable, non-reimbursable and non-exchangeable. Only the legal owner of a Qualifying Product is eligible to take part in the Promotion.

  13. The Promoter reserves the right to change these Promotion Terms with future effect.

  14. Participants will be solely responsible for all applicable taxes and any other relevant costs, expenses which are not stated in the Terms and Conditions as included in the Refund.

  15. The Promoter accepts no responsibility for lost or confidential data and software. Upon receipt of the Qualifying Purchase all data will be destroyed. Please note we are unable to retrieve any data once a Qualifying Product has been received. Deletion of all confidential data and information, which are in each case subject to applicable data protection legislation and are possibly stored on the return product is the responsibility of the Participant.

  16. Unless otherwise specified, this Promotion may not be combined with any other promotion. This will not include any Promotions that are run at the discretion of the Participating Retailer.

  17. The Administrator reserves the right to closely monitor usage of the promotional website, including users’ IP addresses, so that we may identify misuse, and disqualify applications.

  18. The Promoter and the Administrator are not responsible or liable for any technical, hardware, software, server, website, or other failures or damage of any kind to the extent that this prevents, or otherwise obstructs, the participant from participating in the promotion.

  19. All personal information collected by the Administrator on behalf of the Promoter for the purposes of this Promotion shall only be held and processed for the purposes of the Promotion and will be done so in accordance with the Promoter’s privacy policy available at:
